Vein Treatment – VeinGogh
Sep 14th, 2011 by admin
VeinGogh is a new technology being used today to quickly and effectively treat spider veins, telangiectasis, small angiomas and other benign vascular conditions. The technology used by the VeinGogh system uses Ohmic Thermolysis to treat vein conditions by delivering microbursts of electrical energy into damaged vessels. This results in the blood coagulating and the vessel wall collapsing without affecting surrounding tissue or outer layers of skin. Treatments can be applied to the nose, face, legs or anywhere else spider veins may be noticeable.
Benefits of VeinGogh
Previous vein treatment methods often provided less than desired results and many patients developed visible scars after procedures. With the VeinGogh System, patient’s risks of scarring are minimized due to the technology that regulates how much heat is applied to the blood vessels. This prevents visible scarring and damage to surrounding tissue as well as eliminates patient pain and discomfort. VeinGogh treatments can be applied to all types of skin and can treat several different vascular abnormalities. Results leave the skin looking esthetically pleasing and are immediate.
What To Expect When Having VeinGogh
The VeinGogh System is done using a probe that is about the width of a hair. The probe is inserted into the blood vessel. Although this is not painful, patients may experience a slight pinching sensation. Treatment times depend on the size of the area. For minor vessel abnormalities, the procedure can take as little time as a minute, whereas larger areas may take up to 25 minutes. Because VeinGogh treatments prevent any over-heating of vessels, skin is left undamaged although there may be mild redness immediately afterward. This will disappear after an hour or two. Results will be visibly noticeable immediately after the treatment and will continue improving for several weeks as the body reabsorbs the vessels. VeinGogh treatments require no downtime, allowing patients to return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment. Treated veins will be removed permanently although touch-up treatments may be needed if new spider veins appear.
